@lavernecox : A moment in trans herstory. There is almost always someone who has come before you and done it and maybe even better. I want to take a moment to pay homage to #ConnieFleming aka #ConnieGirl @cnngrldsgn. Its just legendary that in the early 1990s a black trans woman graced the fashion runways of designers like Vivienne Westwood, Jean Paul Gaultier and her legendary moments on the runways of Thierry Mugler @manfredthierrymugler. Trailblazers like Connie Girl remind me that we have been making a way out of no way for a very long time. The things she endured to walk those runways trans models don't have to endure today. There are different challenges, of course. But I always want to remember that a path has been laid out for me by folks like Connie Girl Fleming.
