@lavernecox : It was great to see you again last night Theo and to hear what you've been up to. It was one of the most special moments for me in a night of a lot of very special moments. .... Reposted from @theo__germaine -  Laverne Cox has always been one of my biggest inspirations, and I’m sure that millions of people would say the same thing. I worked at my school’s  LGBT Resource Center, and one year she came to speak one year as part of our programming, and I had the big big privilege of getting to meet her and introducer her to the audience.  After the event, after inspiring and challenging the attendees, we got to chat a bunch as I helped her get back to her hotel room.  Excitedly I said I also was an actor, or wanted to be, and we chatted about the business, finding side hustles, staying sane, and persevering when the industry is unkind or not presenting the opportunities we want.  I didn’t really know what any of that was yet, because I wasn’t out of school yet.  I carried all of her advice with me and I still do, every day, and I’m very grateful we got to meet.  Some people and encounters can change your life or keep you going, when you don’t want to. I snuck away to NYC last minute for Met-related celebrations and lo and behold Laverne walked into the party I was attending!  And I totally fanboyed out (apologies 😅) and she remembered me, and I said I was still pursuing acting and talked about what I had been doing a little bit and it felt surreal to come full circle! I don’t know what else to say besides I’m full of so much adoration and excitement.  Thanks for doing what you do, Laverne; you inspire me to do what I love to do!  It was so nice to re-meet you last night! Thanks for reading everyone! I really wanted l share this story! 🥰🥰🥰
