@oliviamunn : So many great things have happened since the #MeToo movement first started a little over a year ago. We wouldn’t be in this moment without the incredibly brave silence breakers- the women and men who spoke out and named an abuser. I know that I’m in a very fortunate position with my career right now, but that’s not the case for a lot of people who have been integral in this movement. Most have been pushed down in our business (or out altogether), which is sickening since we know that if they had just complied or remained silent, they might be at the top of the town today. They spoke out, and because of the power and support of social media, the people who run this industry have been forced to make changes. Their names should be the ones headlining movies. They should be given the opportunities to do award-nominating work. They should be paid top dollar. And anyone in a position to elevate them should do it.
