I feel haunted. We as girls, and as women, have been conditioned by our patriarchal society to believe that we somehow deserved what happened because we were drunk, or because we put ourselves in a bad situation. We did not deserve it. The fact that it happened two decades ago, does not mean it no longer matters. It matters. It matters today more than ever. Time is up. I feel braver today than I did yesterday. I stand with her.
