This is SO resonating with me right now! For many of us, as entrepreneurs and leaders, we’ve gotten pretty good at holding other people accountable, but when it comes to holding ourselves accountable to the things that we say we’re going to do, we often fall short. . How many times have you said you were going to call someone, and then never did? 🙋🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ How many times have you made a commitment, and said to yourself, “I’m going to work out in the morning,” and then didn’t follow through? 🙋🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ The list for me goes on and on! I’ve fallen short SO many times!! . But what’s super interesting is the place in our body where we feel it when we don’t follow through on our commitments. You see... as Seth says: Personal accountability requires courage. And the root word of courage is “cor,” the Latin word for heart. In one of its earliest forms, courage meant “to speak one’s mind by telling all one’s heart.” Which is EXACTLY why when we make the commitment to do something and then don’t hold ourselves accountable and not follow through, it actually hurts our heart!!! 💔 .
