@kristen.aldridge : I’ll be happy when... . I accomplish this goal. . I get a better job. . I make more money. . I buy a bigger house. . I lose 10 lbs. . The list goes on forever. “I’ll be happy when...” is the most dangerous thing you can say. I know this because I was the queen of it. 🙋🏻‍♀️👸🏻And it’s still a major work in progress. Truth is, these exterior things don’t make you happy. And if they do for a moment, the feeling is always short-lived because we just move on to the next bigger/better goal. It’s awesome to have big goals and dreams. But there will always be new goals to make and new mountains to climb. True joy can come only from within, and when we have deep gratitude for the present moment. Exactly as it is now. . So the next time you catch yourself saying, “I’ll be happy when...” Make a change. Decide to be happy now. Make a list of all the things you’re grateful for and of all the reasons you have to be happy.
