@derekhough : Throwback ! 2004 competing with my partner Aneta Piotrowska in Poland. This was just a short intro before the Final round actually begun. Usually there are multiple couples on the floor dancing at the same time. A typical competition starts at 9am and goes until 11pm. Sometimes later. Technique, practice and finesse are important but in those final rounds it really just came down to stamina. Cause if you didn’t have the energy you couldn’t execute the technique or the quality of movement. I struggled a lot competing because I didn’t like to eat on the day before I danced. But like I said, those comps lasted ALL day with multiple rounds, so I remember running on fumes just trying to get through. Competing taught me work ethic, how to be goal orientated and gave me a competitive drive that has stayed with me. Also, my partner was dating this guy with brown hair, and I thought if I died my hair brown she would like me.The things we do when we’re young. #dance #ballroom #latin #samba #competition #quickhips
