@katiecouric : I was covering the events in Charlottesville on August 11, 2017 when 32 year old Heather Heyer, a paralegal and civil rights activist was murdered after 21 year old James Alex Fields plowed into a crowd of peaceful protesters following the so called “Unite the Right” rally. Fields was found guilty on all charges including first degree murder and five counts of aggravated malicious wounding. He was also convicted of 30 federal hate crimes. He could be sentenced to twenty years to life in prison.
