I had the privilege of visiting him and his extraordinary wife Lonnie at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center back in 2006. He’d been suffering from Parkinson’s for over 20 years but he was as lively and funny as ever. The Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center offers a wide range of recreational therapies, educational workshops and support groups as well as the best clinical care, research, and rehabilitation for people dealing with Parkinson’s disease. (A disease by the way, that my father dealt with for the last decade of his life.)
