@bethbehrs : A Poem for my Husband on our first Anniversary Your hands How beautiful, your hands That hold me Laugh or cry That chop, and crack and create A feast so rich The Gods look down in envy Your hands How they hold the brush Along the dusty, midnight mane And touch One who’s legs Twist and turn and try To support The “body” they did not choose Your hands Pen, or sword or piece Cradled in their gentle clasp The fluid wisdom flowing Like the Osceola brook at the mention of Spring Your hands Holding both the world and my heart Together as one Under the same marigold moon
