@katgraham : Today is #WorldRefugeeDay and our government is creating refugees right here in America. Those that know me know that my biggest mission has been to help refugees internationally, most recently focused on Africa with @empower54. Today I am going to ask everyone to press pause and call your representatives to shut down what is happening at the border. More than 3700 children, some as young as 3 months old, have been ripped from their families. Out of all the refugees I have met with, some that had nothing but the clothes on their back, forced to flee for their lives only wanted to have one thing. Their family. I can’t imagine losing my home and my child. It’s unimaginable, inhumane, infuriating and a crime against humanity. As an African American who’s Grandma was in the holocaust and Grandpa in the Liberian civil war, I am very familiar with what happens if we keep our heads down. We must take action now.
