@clarencehouse : Today, The Duchess of Cornwall hosted an event at Buckingham Palace for @ltcfc1928 , a charity which Her Royal Highness has been Patron of since 2010. The Duchess arrived at the Palace in a low emission taxi and was greeted by the charity’s committee and their vehicles. Her Royal Highness then attended a reception to meet drivers who volunteer their time for the charity. The London Taxi Drivers’ Charity for Children (LTCFC) dates back to 1928, when a driver named Mick Cohen, who had grown up in the Norwood Orphanage, recruited 12 drivers to organise an outing and raise money for the Home. Today, the LTCFC are known for organising outings to the seaside and holding exciting events for special needs and disadvantaged children including trips to the theatre and Christmas parties. 📸 Press Association
