The Prince and The Duchess joined a meeting with the Chancellor of Germany, HE Angela Merkel, before being welcomed to Bellevue Palace by Frank-Walter Steinmeier, President of Germany. Their Royal Highnesses then paid tribute to Allied forces who flew provisions into Germany during the Berlin blockade imposed by the Soviet Union in 1948 at the Berlin Airlift Memorial.
