@clarencehouse : Next week, The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall will attend events to commemorate #DDay75. On Wednesday 5th June, The Prince of Wales, alongside HM The Queen and other Heads of State, will attend a National Commemorative Event in Portsmouth. The following day, The Prince, joined by The Duchess of Cornwall, will attend two @royalbritishlegion Services of Remembrance in Normandy – one at Bayeux Cathedral and the other at Bayeux Cemetery. After the services, TRH will have the opportunity to meet veterans who fought on D-Day. On 6th June 1944, allied forces landed on the beaches in Normandy, launching Operation Overlord. D-Day is considered one of the largest military operations in history. The photos show The Prince and The Duchess in 2014 during commemorations of the 70th anniversary of D-Day in Normandy.
