@clarencehouse : Today, The Prince of Wales, in his role as Royal Patron of the Intelligence Services, visited @gchq to mark #GCHQ100. During the visit, His Royal Highness met representatives of community groups that GCHQ work closely with, and staff who work at the headquarters. The Prince also had the chance to look at artefacts in the GCHQ Museum, which included intelligence reports and the Royal Codebook. To mark the opening of the GCHQ Centenary Garden, HRH watched a flyover by @rafredarrows and planted a tree. The garden features ‘spy ducks’ in the pond and a ‘hotline’ telephone box, which has been converted into a greenhouse for chillis.‪ In a speech to the GCHQ workforce, HRH said: “Looking back at GCHQ’s unfailing ability to rise to the challenges of its time gives me every confidence that this country, our freedom and our way of life, will continue to be well served by all of you, no matter what comes at us.”‬ 🔍
