She’s begging us. —- The regions of origin for immigrant populations residing in the U.S. have dramatically shifted since the passage of the 1965 Immigration and Naturalization Act. In 1960, 84% of immigrants living in the U.S. were born in Europe or Canada, while only 6% were from Mexico. Immigrant origins now differ, with Mexicans and other Latin Americans making up about 50% of the U.S. immigrant population. That shift and that shift alone is what turned the violently segregated romanticism of white immigration we grew up with, into this dishonest perverse invasion narrative you’re being sold. White people do illegal shit everyday, on camera, then head home for dinner. Laws change, evolve and devolve everyday. Laws in this country are not inherently moral.
