@sophiabush : Guys. I posted the following as a #MondayMantra in November of 2014. Over the last week I’ve traveled all across the country and spoken in front of some amazing audiences. With @mitchalbom in Detroit. At @northwesternu in Illinois. At the @harvardiop w/ fellow activists & students. Tonight I’ll be in Seattle w/ some incredible students from @marchforourlives. • All of these conversations revolve around unity. Around humanity. Around caring for one another and voting like we mean it. About how we can stop buying into the hype from media and politicians who are bought and paid for, and how we can take back our lives + drive forward progress in our country, and, most importantly, truly carry each other’s hearts in our hearts. This felt fitting to circle back to... here we go. ••• 2014: #YourHeartMatters This is a human heart. Researchers are learning that this incredible little machine, the size of a fist, possesses a level of intelligence they are only beginning to understand. "The heart is a sensory organ and acts as a sophisticated information encoding and processing center that enables it to learn, remember, and make independent functional decisions," says a paper from the Institute of HeartMath. Now what FASCINATES me, is the new information we have about the heart's ENERGY. Like the brain, the heart generates a powerful electromagnetic field. The largest in the body, in fact. Studies suggest this field can be detected 8ft outside the body (5ft for the brain). Guys. Your heart radiates energy EIGHT FEET from your body. It literally touches other people. And it does so far more than your brain. Your life force, your love center, your pulse, TOUCHES other people. People you don't even know can feel your heart. People you pass on the street. People in line with you at the grocery store. Someone you smile at walking through the airport. That's so powerful. We are intermingling all the time. You give energy to other people simply by being.
