“Because of its superb mechanics and sharp Ziess lens, the square format 70 mm Hassleblad, outfitted with an external viewfinder and oversize controls, was NASA’s camera of choice for still photography on crewed missions. The interchangeable film magazines were loaded with extra-thin film manufactured for NASA by Eastman Kodak, which increased the capacity from twelve to nearly two hundred frames per roll.”
