@angelcandices : Back in @mmtckenya meeting Gilbert and his family, a local landowner and first investor in the community owned project. Gilbert said that he and about 700 other local landowners invested part of their land in exchange for new homes and rental apartments on their homesteads within the City. None of the locals have been displaced. Instead, they receive monthly income from rentals which is putting their kids and grandkids through school. Behind us is his new house powered by solar energy. This concept will impact the inevitable growth that is happening in Africa ensuring that it’s done in a conscious way.
