@mattmcgorry : Appreciative of the beautiful photography (and mind) of @hfdavis . Actions such as the one just 2 weekends ago organizes by @conmijente are an integral part of the fight for freedom. When I am feeling overwhelmed and down with what is going on in the world, being among a community of people that have gathered for the purpose of liberation uplifts my spirits. Oftentimes, the way that we digest information online and in our silos can make us feel more alone than we really are. In a country that worships individualism and the savior mentality, we often don’t make time to be in community with our fellow humans that are striving for justice. But there is so much to be learned just in showing up. So much that can’t be learned just by reading and studying. Solidarity requires action, not just beliefs.
