Please wait... @mattmcgorry : When you a man and someone does something that hurts you or that you donât like but youâre socialized to believe that vulnerability makes you âlike a woman,â ânot a real man,â or âgayâ which you are taught to avoid at all costs so you donât express your feeling in a healthy way and thus sacrifice the ability to ever fully be yourself or truly resolve conflict which makes you unable to deal with your inner life in constructive ways so we turn to anger because itâs the only socially accepted form of emotion for men and then we wonder why men commit nearly all of the violence in the world.

Yes Iâm aware that people of all genders do what is depicted in the meme. But as men, we really take the cake on not expressing our feelings and punishing other men who do...and punishing women for doing it too bc we think we are owed things by women which are only based on our own sexist perceptions. Like judging and controlling womenâs sexuality (shaming them for being a âteaseâ and also for being âa slutâ), their assertiveness (we call it âbossyâ or âcoldâ in women), in conversation when we constantly talk over and interrupt women without noticing it, and when we dismiss womenâs concerns as âcrazyâ or âdramatic.â Letâs not.
