@mattmcgorry : Brett Kavanaugh is the symptom. Rape culture and patriarchy is the disease. Same with Trump. Same with the rapists outted by the #MeToo movement (not to mention white supremacy, capitalism, etc). Men, if you actually care...listen to women, and the women on the front lines of the anti-sexist, anti-rape culture, feminist movement and GET TO WORK. And if you’re a man, wondering if I’m talking about YOU, I can assure you that I AM. You need to be a man that OTHER MEN know stands against rape culture. That other men know won’t let this shit slide. That other men can come to you with their questions about what to do to be a part of the solution. We all have circles of influence, and we need to influence them. We don’t deserve credit for not being a Kavanaugh, a Trump, or a Weinstein. The only way to change this world to make it safer for women and girls is to be preemptive and do the shit that you see almost no other men doing. When you see lots of women in your life re-posting an article or a meme about rape culture, but not men doing it, YOU DO IT. Violence against women is *MEN’S* VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN OVER 99% OF THE TIME. This is OUR job to fix. Guys, next time you hear liberal men complaining about Kavanaugh, ask “what are YOU doing to end rape culture?”
