@mattmcgorry : MLK speaking on white privilege, without calling it that. Us white people whose parents were born here have been benefitting from the privilege of whiteness since before we were born. The wealth accrued that was not available to Black families gets passed down and continues to build wealth in white communities and so on and so on. This does not mean that every white person has class privilege or money, but is one of the reasons that white people, as a whole, are disproportionately more wealthy than Black people. It’s time to get to work to even dismantle these systems.
