@minkakelly : I had the privilege of witnessing this powerhouse and all around beauty and artistic director of @sadancecompany make her Los Angeles debut yesterday. I burst into tears within 5 minutes of @payal and her dancers taking the stage. Moved to tears by their beauty and storytelling. Moved to tears by how lucky I felt to bear witness to such a beautiful representation of culture and diversity; something we need more of in the world. • @sadancecompany is deeply integrated in the Indian heritage of its dancers. What they bring is neither traditional nor contemporary, nor Bollywood nor Hollywood, and yet greater than the sum of all those parts and above all, proudly and distinctly Indian. Weaving together traditional Indian folk and classical dance with western aesthetics and dance forms to express the essence of the Indian-American identity. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for you, Payal. You are a gift. Thank you. ❤️
