Honest - when I started this Instagram account, I aspired to be like many of the accounts I followed. Beautiful photos of moms smiling with their kids, strolling along, looking so happy. But as I found my way through the world of social media, I started to realize how fake that was. How shitty it made me feel to see these “perfect life” feeds. The reason I created Foodhome Co. was to bring my passions to life and through social media, provide people with an escape. Some cooking and lifestyle entertainment. Nothing too serious, just some good old light entertainment. So when it occurred to me that doing this all in a meticulous perfect way, would actually make people feel bad, instead of good, I started to change my tone and style. Don’t get me wrong, what you see is not a depiction of my life as a whole. It’s little snapshots. And I have a line I won’t cross in terms of privacy, for myself and my family, so you will always see more of the good than the bad. But don’t for one second think there isn’t fighting with my husband, yelling at my kids, feeling totally stressed and overwhelmed. It’s all there behind the scenes, but at those moments I’m not about to whip out my phone and talk about it over social media. #truthinsocial #postpartumbodychallenge
