@therickilee : Today I am thinking about all of the amazing women in my life that have helped shape the woman I have become - my friends and my family, and also the women I have looked up to and admired - who have given me the inspiration and encouragement to be myself. I think as women, sometimes we shrink ourselves to fit in, to not ruffle feathers, to not rock the boat - but I was taught to be a woman with a voice, who fights for what she believes in, who knows her worth and doesn’t need validation from anybody to be happy. At many times in my life I have felt like I’ve been punished or thought of as ‘difficult’ for being a strong woman who isn’t afraid of speaking her mind and having an opinion. But I would rather know that I have stood up for what I believe in and that I stuck to my guns on certain things because I know my worth - than be known as someone that can be walked all over by bullies. I think the most important thing we can all be is ourselves - and the most powerful thing we can do is support each other. We live in a world where everyone is so quick to judge and everyone has a platform to criticize you and try to tear you down - and I think the best thing we can do is try to be kind to one another xxx Happy #InternationalWomensDay 💃🏽
