@kellyslater : Walking through the streets of Tokyo in 2005, I randomly met @realroyce who invited me to watch his brother @roylergracie fight the next night. Unfortunately, Royler ended up on the wrong side of a Kid Yamamoto right hand. That was my first real introduction to MMA. I became a Kid fan and got the chance to meet and talk to him a couple years later in Vegas. He recounted how he dreamt the famous flying knee ko of Kazuyuki Miyata months before it happened and shared a few stories. It’s always cool to meet a legend in their field and exchange a few words. Been looking for this photo for a couple of days and it turned up in my texts today. Thanks for this, @hidavid and @oleemamiller. Losing too many friends and acquaintances the past few years makes it nice to have memories and photographs. ‘Kid’ succumbed to his battle with cancer at age 41 two days ago. • • • RIP Norifumi #KidYamamoto 👊🏽🇯🇵
