@tonyhawk : In honor of World Alzheimer’s Day, I’m sharing these photos of happier, more lucid times with my mom. She believed in me and my passion for skating when I endured constant ridicule from my peers. And she taught me to treat others with respect and kindness even when you don’t agree with them. The last photo is from two years ago and it captures the last time she recognized me. I share these memories with you to raise awareness about the fact that #Every3Seconds, someone in the world develops dementia and that rate seems to be increasing.
