Last night, we were contacted about a dire situation 4 hours outside of Los Angeles: A Shih Tzu breeder with around 100 dogs on their property is dying of cancer, and the animals were about to be rounded up and sent to a nearby animal control for euthanasia because there was no space for them and because they are in very bad condition. We and our partner group have pulled transport and vet care together as quickly as we can, picked up the first group of dogs we are saving, and are trying to head back for 35 more tomorrow. PLEASE HELP!!!! You cannot believe the state these animals are in -- scroll through. They are absolutely drowning in matted, rotting fur, they can barely see, they must be covered in skin infections under there. We are so grateful to see that at least they still have faith in humanity and are friendly, which is making this heartbreaking undertaking a little easier.
