@katebosworth : I didn’t know him personally, but man was a deeply saddened by the news today. Anthony Bourdain was - undoubtedly - a true original. I loved watching him and listening to what he had to say because I knew he was 100% speaking his truth. Unfiltered yes - but also deeply soulful and wonderfully articulate. He could make us laugh at the sharp clarity of opinion and then in the next second make us pause and wonder at some cerebral revelation. He was a brilliant - rebel with a cause - bad ass - observing curious participant on this planet who marched to the beat of his own drum. Always. What a way to live! We should hope to have an ounce of that determination because to be a purist is clearly terribly hard and lonely. To do it your way and to not be deterred. I’m sure you hate all this attention Anthony Bourdain, but too bad, you were - and will always be - PROLIFIC. . Thank you. . Lastly, I read that you don’t believe in a next chapter after death. I hope you are wrong. I would like to think you are laughing somewhere beautiful eating a big bowl of spicy noodles and calling out to us “GUYS! These are the real Parts Unknown - and how fucking wonderful.”
