@katiecouric : Sometimes we forget simple but truly meaningful acts of kindness. When Jay died, 20 years ago, Jane Pauley wrote this lovely letter to Carrie, who was only 2 at the time. (I had asked people attending the funeral to write to the girls so they could really know their Dad) Jane enclosed a separate note to me saying she had written to Carrie because Jane, too, was a little sister. It is so lovely and sweet and thoughtful and I was so moved when I took it out of a box and read it this afternoon after all these years. Thank you Jane. ❤️ If you know someone who is sick or has experienced tremendous loss, write them and tell them how you feel, even if you feel awkward or uncomfortable and don’t know exactly what to say It can provide such comfort to grieving people. And it’s the right thing to do. 🙏🏻. And one more thing! Just re-read your note Scott Armstrong all about Manhassat High School and your memories of Jay. It was so wonderful!!! I can’t wait to read it with Ellie and Carrie. Thank you Scott! Xoxoxo
