@katiecouric : Took my in-laws to see the extraordinary Elaine May in @waverlygallerybway and we were blown away. Elaine (a national treasure) Joan Allen (one of my favorites ❤️) @lucasshedges (who is crushing it) Michael Cera (who I’ve loved since Juno) and David Croner (from Billions among other things) were all spectacular. It’s about growing old, senility and responsibility and although it doesn’t sounds like a “feel good” show, it’s both harrowing and hilarious. Playwright Kenneth Lonergan has such a gift for creating dialogue that’s so believable, so true, you feel as if you’re eves dropping on an actual conversation. Elaine was psyched to meet a fellow Chicagoan and delighted his name was Herb, like her late husband in the show. This is my first theatre review on Instagram! So grateful to live in NYC where great theatre is a cab ride away! #I❤️NY #broadwaybound PS how cute is Herby? PPS let me know if you’ve seen a play you’ve loved recently! 😊
