@katiecouric : Today, Congress is voting on the Equal Rights Amendment for the first time in 36 years. The ERA is a proposed amendment to the Constitution that would guarantee equal rights for all American citizens regardless of sex. It would also require states to intervene in cases of gender violence (like domestic violence and sexual harassment) and it would guard against pregnancy and motherhood discrimination - and on top of all that, it would federally guarantee equal pay. It’s crazy to me that women still don’t have equal protection under the Constitution in 2019, so I hope Congress does the right thing and ratifies the #era!!!
