@katiecouric : Two other completely senseless and infuriating murders. Hopes, dreams and such potential snuffed out in an instant. Riley Howell, 21, was shot “point blank” in his classroom at UNC-Charlotte on Tuesday when he tried to take the gunman down. The shooter rushed into a classroom and opened fire just as Riley and 30 other students were listening to final presentations in their liberal studies class. According to Charlotte Police Chief Kerr Putney, Riley ran at the gunman and knocked him off his feet - an act which helped save the lives of his classmates and helped police arrest the suspect. “He did such a heroic thing. He was everybody’s protector. You felt safe when you were with Riley.”💔 I am sending his family my deepest sympathy for this unspeakable loss. I hate how often I have to post these tributes to people gone way too soon from gun violence. This has to end. #rip #northcarolina #unccharlotte #rileyhowell #remembertheirnames
