In her own words, "Hi Busy! My name is Natalie and I am an elementary art teacher (best job ever) in Dallas, TX. While I have the best job ever, it does come with its challenges, and most of those challenges have to do with the minuscule budget I have to work with. I do what I can with what I am given, and am thankful for it, even if it isn't much. My students also face challenges. 70% of my students come from low socioeconomic homes and 40% are considered at risk. My school also sees the children from a nearby homeless shelter. However, students thrive in my classroom. My art classroom is a safe place for the children to express themselves, explore new things, draw, paint, design, build, and simply be creative children. My wishlist includes basic art classroom supplies, but it also includes many books on kindness and many books that have characters that my students of color can relate to." Yay!!
