A trailblazer for female directors, being the first to gross over $100 mill at box office with Big, I believe the second woman to be nominated for an Academy Award for Awakenings, and made some lifelong favorites that will forever hold up like Jumping Jack Flash and A League Of Their Own. When Penny hit her sweet spot, she could make you laugh and cry all in the same breath. Something the Marshalls knew very well. Something I miss in cinema today, something I hope I can sprinkle into the films I direct one day.
