@tonyhawk : My first trip to NYC was in 1987 during a Bones Brigade tour with @tommyguerrero. We drove into the city, parked the frail Powell tour van, walked to CBGB and bought shirts. By the time we got back, our van was tagged. Some cops drove by and sternly told us we shouldn’t have parked there, and we were lucky that it didn’t get broken into or stolen. The city has changed dramatically since then, but then not at all in the most beautiful, gritty ways. Thanks for all the magical memories 🍎. Honored to be here as a @clioawards recipient tonight.
