@tonyhawk : My dad died in 1995 of lung cancer (non-smoker). He would drive me to every skate event in Southern California when I was growing up, and eventually formed the NSA by convincing the fractured & struggling skate companies to work together on a professional competition series. His crowning achievement came when he saw me on ESPN at the first Extreme Games in 1995; to see skateboarding featured on the sports network he watched most was as big as it could get. He passed away that summer having no idea about the meteoric rise in skateboarding - and my career - that was about to happen. Riley was the only child of mine that he got to meet but his legacy is the parenting that I (and my siblings) provide to our children, and I am thankful to have his rare example to emulate.
