@oliviamunn : In 2017 when the first Harvey Weinstein story broke, it created an avalanche that would expose countless abusers. Although there were some who braved the press alone (like Sarah Scott, Anthony Rapp, Terry Crews), that was rare. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Almost every new “Harvey” story has multiple survivors speaking out against the same abuser. Sometimes it’s because your truth isn’t believed until others say the same thing happened to them. And sometimes it’s because it’s just too scary to speak out on your own. That’s why Silence Breakers Jessica Barth + Caitlin Dulany created a website VoicesInAction.org to help connect survivors. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Jessica’s first site Who Is Your Harvey was integral in exposing a few abusers this past year so she wanted to expand the platform to not only report abuse but to help survivors heal and to make real, lasting changes in Hollywood. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ You probably haven’t heard of Voices in Action yet because they don’t have the press and large donations like other groups, but they already did a hell of a lot without as much fame or deep pockets so if I was gonna bet on anyone changing the world, it would be these two and I hope you’ll give them your support. ⁣ ⁣ Link in my bio to the recent @guardian article about Voices in Action. ⁣ ⁣ @voices_in_action @iamjessicabarth @caitlindulany @guardian @thatsarahscott @terrycrews @albinokid1026
