@katiecouric : Today’s #WednesdayWoman is Leslie Carrara-Rudolph aka Abby Cadabby!! She is a phenomenal puppeteer and an incredible human being. She visited the kindergartners at Harlem Village Academies this month and they were mesmerized. She’s played characters on @sesamestreet for the past 12 years - and has most recently been playing Abby Cadabby, a 4 year old fairy whose magical powers include popping in and out of thin air, floating when she’s happy, and turning things into pumpkins 🧚🏼‍♀️🎃 Leslie clearly has a magical touch with the children she meets. She really makes Abby come to life, and the kids forget that Leslie is even there! I’m on the board of the Harlem Village Academies, and whenever I visit the students and teachers there it gives me such joy. I was happy to bring Abby and return the favor. “I have been through and have witnessed how the arts can change people’s lives in a way that helps them overcome challenges and also shines a light on their truth. My life is dedicated to championing individuality through the arts.
