@katiecouric : As you’ve probably read by now, Roger Stone, a longtime informal advisor to President Trump was arrested yesterday at his home in Ft Lauderdale “by FBI agents wearing ballistic vests with their guns drawn” and charged with seven criminal counts, including one count of obstruction, five counts of false statements, and one count of witness-tampering. It’s the Mueller team’s first indictment in months and the clearest evidence to date of the Trump campaign’s alleged attempts to cooperate with WikiLeaks during the 2016 election in the effort to damage Hillary Clinton's campaign. Stone, a larger-than life figure and self-described “dirty trickster,” has been a mainstay in Republican politics since starting out as an aide in Richard Nixon’s 1972 reelection campaign. Stone flashed the Nixonian double-V sign and proclaimed his innocence yesterday outside the courthouse as both fans and critics looked on, proclaiming: “As I have said previously, there is no circumstance whatsoever under which I will bear false witness against the president, nor will I make up lies to ease the pressure on myself."
