@katiecouric : This is what a sea of brilliance looks like! 300 of the best and brightest cancer scientists in the country (and some from overseas)all working with @su2c (Stand Up To Cancer) came to our annual scientific summit in #LA to share their latest research. Ten years ago, nine women (including the late, great Laura Ziskin and yours truly) started this organization with the goal of discovering better cancer treatments and getting them to patients faster. Fast forward a decade and here we are: 1500 scientists, 25 dream teams from 180 institutions collaborating, not competing; not to mention 180 clinical trials involving 12,000 patients, contributing to 5 new FDA approved drugs—and all this work funded with more than 600 million dollars that’s been raised and well...that’s progress folks! These are the most focused and dedicated human beings I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing. Thank you to all the scientists working their a@#*& off to cure cancer and other devastating diseases. Thanks to the @AACR (American Association of Cancer Researchers) for your support and the hardworking staff at @su2c for putting this critically important summit together!
