@katgraham : Happy Birthday to my mentor and friend Kenny @babyface Edmonds. After making a decision to go independent, you inspired me to keep writing, keep producing, keep performing. And then came Roxbury Drive... I’m literally on Capital Hill with the recording academy while writing this, because you’ve shown me that fighting for your rights as an artist, for your integrity as a creator, and for other artists is so important. We’ve spent so much time listening to music, reworking songs, gossiping lol. Seeing you perform in a packed arena last month in your hometown, reminded me that the same man that guides me thru my most difficult and sometimes heartbreaking moments in this industry, is also the same icon people sing the lyrics right back at. And every time I close my eyes I thank the Lord that I’ve got you (see what I did right there?) Thank you for your friendship, your counsel, love, and fierce empowerment you consistently give me to never give up. I’m forever your champion, your fan, your artist, and goofiest friend.
