My name is Rosie and I’m an 8th grade middle school math teacher. I work in the largest middle school in a county in NC. Im blessed to work in a diverse school that serves students from a wide array of races, religion, culture and socioeconomic status. We have 1300+ students and our classrooms are over flowing with 30+ students per class. Half of the students we serve (650+) are economically disadvantaged and lack basic resources they need for school. As a middle math school teacher. I’m an educator, counselor, role model, and motivator. I bring my pride and excitement to my math class and my students each day. Being the largest middle school, we are not funded adequately to serve as many students as we have. I constantly have to pay out of pocket for basic classroom essentials and student needs. I need help to continue to support my students like I promised them I would."
