@busyphilipps : This seems insane to be typing: tear gassing children is NOT okay or normal. Seeking asylum is NOT illegal. I am taking five minutes to do this today because my heart is heavy at how these families are being treated. Follow @paolamendoza for more information about what these families are facing and who they are. She is putting names and stories to the people who are risking their lives in order to escape horrible circumstances only to be met by this.... Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to be free...I guess for some that only applies to their own ancestors? This isn't a political discussion. As a moral and ethical human, how could you justify this?? If you are a Christian or religious person, how could you think this is okay? What mental gymnastics do you have to go through? Stop. Breathe. Close your eyes and think about what you believe is right. If using tear gas on woman and children and men who are escaping circumstances you can’t even imagine seems okay to you, I’m not sure how we morally will ever be able to agree. #stayhuman
