@sophiabush : As we celebrate #IWD and the 100th anniversary (#ad) of the 19th Amendment (and #wcw!), I’m thrilled to celebrate the Equal Rights Amendment with my partners @JohnnieWalkerUS and its Jane Walker by Johnnie Walker blend, which is dedicated to championing women. This January, the ERA was passed by its required 38th state, Virginia. But we need the ERA to be ratified. In EVERY state. The ERA must become the law of the land. Because while 94% of Americans support constitutional equality for women, data shows that somewhere between 80% - 86% of Americans mistakenly think it already exists! We deserve real, tangible equality. No more of this making $0.80 on the dollar to men — and don’t forget that this disparity is even worse for women of color! That’s why I’m proud to work with Johnnie Walker, and share that they’ve signed on as the first brand to join Corporate America for the ERA – a new coalition of corporations and business leaders dedicated to passing the Equal Rights Amendment with the @eracoalition. Together, we are asking companies across the country to stand with the ERA and join the coalition by emailing [email protected]. And you can encourage companies you work for or do business with (even as consumers!) to do the same. Women are ready to break the barriers that stand before us — we’ve BEEN ready — and it’s time we have equal opportunity to push boundaries.
