These days have been challenging for all of us. Raising a toddler and a newborn in New York during these unprecedented times is tough. To help with self-isolation, I’ve been trying to find ways to feel more connected while sticking with a routine. @peanut has become a big part of that. @Peanut is an app to find support, get advice and share stories about motherhood. It’s really refreshing to be a part of a community of moms who are sharing advice and information. You can start your own thread with a question or concern and then get valuable advice - or check out the existing conversations women are already having. I found one about how NYC moms are keeping their kids active and connected to nature while stuck inside, which I really appreciated. I’ve been feeling overwhelmed lately, but to know I’m not the only one feeling this way has been really comforting. Having community is more important than ever right now, so I encourage you to join and stay connected. My daughter’s lunch today, all from the farmers market: fresh caught grey sole, cauliflower and celery soup made with homemade broth, and watermelon (which is now in season!) There are also leftovers for a few days so her main meals are taken care of for a few days!

Finally! Organic corn has arrived at the farmers market. Corn is one of the crops that is most sprayed with herbicides & pesticides, & is often genetically modified. Waiting for it to hit the farmers market is worth it—you’ll know you’re not feeding your family that awful stuff!

Yogurt Parfaits for breakfast this AM. SO easy to make. I love to use grassfed plain yogurt, gluten free banana granola, and blueberries/strawberries. Just make sure you eat it right away so that the granola doesn’t get soggy. Shoot some other combos my way so I can try them!

A lot of moms ask me how I have time to make Ella’s baby food everyday... This is a great tool I use. It steams and has an option to blend like a food processor. Now that my baby is eating more solids, sometimes I’ll just mash it after I steam. I make a batch of it and then freeze the rest in ice cube trays. It’s easy and is a great alternative to processed baby food!
