Ingredients:
10 tablespoons unsalted butter
1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon coarse salt
¾ cup packed light brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 large egg, room temperature
1 ½ cups chocolate feves (a mix of dark, milk and white), broken or chopped into large pieces
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
2. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Continue to cook, stirring constantly, until deep golden brown, about 11 minutes. Immediately pour butter into a large bowl, and cool to room temperature, about 10 minutes.
3. In the meantime, in a small bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside
4. Once butter has cooled, add brown sugar, granulated sugar, vanilla and egg; stir to combine. Add flour mixture and continue to mix until just incorporated. Add chocolate; stir to combine.
5. Line two rimmed baking sheets with parchment. Using a ¼-cup measure or ice cream scoop, evenly divide dough into 13 portions (spacing about 3-inches apart). Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
6. Bake, rotating pans halfway though, until edges are lightly golden brown, about 14-16 minutes.
7. Transfer baking sheets to wire rack to cool completely before serving.
