Children and parents are still being traumatized and abused. And m we have to remember, this is not just a Latinx issue... black immigrants from Haiti, the Caribbean, Africa, Afro-Latinos, Native, and Muslim immigrants are being treated just as bad and sometimes WORSE because of the intersectional oppression and invisibility. TPS, Zero Tolerance Policy, and Muslim Ban together is filling for profit immigration PRISONS and separating families. These are not separate. # Remember that the Spanish were European colonizers. The brown ethnic identity of Latinx people comes from NATIVE South and Central AMERICAN blood and Black blood from the slave trade. So this is a DIRECT continuation of enslavement, abuse, genocide of Native American, brown and black people by the white MINORITY of the Americas occupying stolen land. # Today we have an awesome group of influencers, celebrities, activists sharing stories at the border and participating in social justice training and education on this issue from grassroots activists doing the REAL work like @instabaji @migrantfreedom @panasandiego #HatianBridgeAlliance #AlotroLado Learning how we can raise money to post bond for some of these immigrants who literally are in prison and separated from family because they can’t afford to post bond. 1/3 of these people are eligible and would otherwise spend as long as 7/8 years in “detention” aka prison until they see a trial date. These are refugees and asylum seekers that are fleeing violence largely created and/or exacerbated by our government. #closeimmigrantprisons #keepfamiliestogether #abolishICE “
