@mattmcgorry : "Invisible Man Got The Whole World Watching" by Mychal Denzel Smith @mychaldenzel # Smith is a tremendous writer. Highly recommend reading this. I really loved his memoir and deeply appreciated reading about his journey and evolution as a human being and as a Black man who is deeply invested in justice for all people. I also really admire the view of intersectionality that his journey has had, as he explores his own sexism, transphobia, homophobia, ableism and other oppressive ideologies that we are all steeped in and internalizing by living in the U.S. For me, it felt like a perfect mix of life story blended with discussions of some of the most important issues that we are up against as Americans who are struggling for equality. His reasons for frustration with electoral politics and analysis of Obama's presidency are a much needed point of conversation that is sorely lacking on the Left. # My Booklist: bit.ly/mcgreads (link in bio) #mcgreads
